Community Supported Agriculture

2010 Membership Information

What is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?

Community Supported Agriculture is an international movement that connects community members and farmers. It is an opportunity for folks who like to eat locally grown organic fruits and vegetables to partner with people who like to grow them so that we all can benefit. The CSA we offer to you would provide you with fresh, in season produce and flowers on a weekly basis. This is either delivered to your home or picked up at your choice of 6 locations throughout the valley. We commit to providing these things to you in exchange for you providing us with financial support in the spring.

What this means for YOU:

  • Weekly home deliveries or convenient pick-up from any one of 6 locations in Medford, Talent and Ashland.
  • 2 size options
  • 2 length of season options

  • Senior option for every other week delivery or pick up
  • Recipes and news from the farm
  • 10% CSA Member discount at our Grower's Market booth
  • Personal satisfaction: You are contributing to the survival and success of a small family farm.

What this means for US:

  • Healthy, co-operative existence: Your financial contribution in the spring is directly invested in seeds, soil amendment, and other necessities that we need to ensure season long production.
  • Networking: Getting to know like minded folks in our community and continuing to spread positive practices.
  • Expanding:Reaching folks who cannot for one reason or another come to our growers markets or buy our produce in grocery stores is important to us. The CSA is an opportunity for MORE people to eat healthy, eat locally grown, and eat organically.

Your Harvest Box:

We want you to be thrilled every week when you open up your harvest box. We want you to get all the things you want and we want you to try all the new things that you've never tried before. It is with that in mind that we configure what goes into your box every week. This also proves to be very educational, for you only get what is IN SEASON. Regardless of what you may see in the produce department at the grocery store, many specialty items actually have a much shorter availability, when grown locally. Through your CSA membership, we hope to educate, stimulate and fulfill all your appetites!

Each week your harvest box will contain items from each of these 5 categories, as they become seasonally available:

  • Cooking vegetables: Beets, Broccoli, Cabbage, carrots, Onions, Beans, Peas, Corn
  • Salad vegetables & Greens: Lettuce, Spinach, Kales, Chards, Arugula, Tomatoes, Cucumbers
  • Salad mix: Our fresh mix of baby greens including up to 12 different types
  • Flower bouquet: Fresh cut, in season flower bunches or mixed bouquets
  • Seasonal varieties: Berries, Melons, Peppers, Tomatoes, Herbs, and other delights!

Projected Availability:

FRY FAMILY FARM VEBETABLES We like to give you some idea of what types of produce are available at certain times of the year, but keep in mind that this is a very general outline.

Most likely there will be great variance from this projected schedule.

Try as we might to have the widest range of availability for each type of produce and each crop, there are many factors beyond our control.

Such is the way in organic farming, and thus we learn to be flexible and do the best we can with what we have available to us at the time.

With all of that in mind, we wanted to provide some sort of guideline for the availability of each crop. Please take this projected availability with flex.

Thank you!
